Cancer overview
What patients and families should understand
Brain tumours may be primary, such as gliomas and meningiomas, or metastatic from another cancer. Radiation may be used after surgery, as definitive treatment in selected tumours, for multiple brain metastases, or as highly focused treatment for limited lesions.
Dr. Ankita Patel's approach
How Ankita Patel handles it
Dr. Ankita Patel reviews MRI, surgical notes, pathology, neurologic symptoms, steroid use, seizure history, and systemic cancer control before deciding the plan. She explains whether focal radiation, stereotactic treatment, whole-brain treatment, or observation is most appropriate for the clinical situation.
